It’s been my sincere pleasure to get to know, become good friends, and coach Karen Wilson. This will be her second year to go to the CrossFit Games as a Master’s Athlete. It is an extremely amazing accomplishment to qualify to go once, but twice! For these elite competitive athletes the level of committment to excellence and personal growth every day and every year is staggering. I am extremely proud of Karen Wilson because I have seen her challenges up close and personal. Battling various injuries, juggling motherhood of 3 kids, trying to push herself as an athlete, and coaching at her CrossFit gym would put anyone on overload. Yet Karen has persevered and improved in several areas. I encourage you to support her in whatever way you can… a good luck card, Facebook post, or watching her in July on the CrossFit website.
Karen’s home gym, CrossFit St. Louis West (formerly CrossFit ICE) threw her a surprise congrats on the Games party. Wish I could have been there! A great group of people to cheer you on! Miss you all!
Last year, we put together a video featuring Karen and the beginning of her CrossFit journey up to her first appearance at the CrossFit Games. Check it out if you missed it.
